50+ Years: Gary's Flower Shoppe
Serving customers since 1970, Gary’s Flower Shoppe at 1910 E. 38th St. has been perfecting the art of flowers (and customer service) for over 52 years.
“Most important is quality,” said owner Gary Maas. “We aim to provide the best quality, value and product.”
For Gary, flower design is an art.
While we were there, he was whisking away at a flower arrangement.
“I’ll tell you a funny story… how I got into this business,” tells Gary. I wanted to be an architect, attend Case Western University. That didn’t happen. I went on to study electrical engineering. I absolutely hated it! I left school and immediately bought Gary’s… when I was 21. The rest is history.”
Gary’s been wowing customers ever since.
GARY'S FLOWER SHOPPE features unique custom floral designs for all seasons and all reasons. “We specialize in designing for parties and weddings, and offer a large selection of fresh flowers and custom silk arrangements.”
Some of Gary’s most interesting customers have been Joan Crawford and Fergie. “I’ve met so many people and you get attached.”
Born and raised in Erie, PA, Gary serves on the board of MIAC (Mercyhurst Institute for Arts & Culture) (presently), Dafmark Dance (formerly), and Warner Theater Trust (presently).
“I’m an old man,” he chuckles… but that certainly didn’t stop Gary from creating a fantastic modern flower piece.
