Steve Alfieri: Wesleyville Councilmember
Mr. Alfieri started off by saying… “if you love a woman, you buy her flowers. If you really really love a woman, you buy her the flower shop.” And so, he did. Steve Alfieri and his wife Darlene are the owners and operators at Floral Expressions by Darlene located on Station Road in Wesleyville. Their new shop is ready for the holidays. You’ll have to stop by and pay a visit to the store at 2013 Station Rd.
They serve funerals, birthdays, anniversaries, homecomings, proms, weddings, etc.,…. and sell everything from flowers, gifts, fruit baskets, holiday items, memorial stones and more.
This past November, Mr. Alfieri was elected to serve on Wesleyville Borough Council. He starts on the job Jan 3rd, 2022. When asked what his platform was, Steve replied, “I don’t have a platform…” “I look forward to improving our community as a place for people to visit (not just to drive through).” He went on to say, “I look forward to working with Council and members of the public to bring a family friendly environment to Wesleyville.”
Born and raised in Harborcreek, Steve married the love of his life, Darlene in 1994, bought a house in Wesleyville and soon thereafter were residents ever since. The Alfieri’s are a household name in town, they are life-members of the Loyal Order of Moose, where Mr. Alfieri serves as Sargent at Arms for the PA Moose Association. Mr. Alfieri is a volunteer at Wesleyville Hose Company and serves as it’s President and Fire Captain. Darlene too volunteers with Wesleyville Hose Company, she’s EMS Lieutenant. The Alfieri’s are concerned not many ppl in town realize Wesleyville is strictly a 100% volunteer fire dept. And they’re looking for your help… with fire, EMS, behind the scenes, drivers, fundraising, etc. And he says it’s fun. Training is provided and so is the equipment. Next time you're in the store, be sure to ask him all about it. He's passionate.
When asked what he wanted to share with his voters, Mr. Alfieri responded “to improve the overall look of Wesleyville.”
